As you may know, the animated series of Inu-Yasha ended in Japan yesterday after 167 episodes...
HOWEVER rumors are already circulating that Inu-Yasha will continue in some form and that this is a "temporary pause".
As it is no longer scheduled in the TV channels, it seems that Inu-Yasha may continue in OAV format.
Inuyasha Anime to end?

Episodes 166-167 Titles Announced:
"Futari no Kizuna - Shikon no Kakera o Tsukae!"
The Bond of Two - Using the Shikon Shard!
Sunrise Japan has NOT released any titles past 166-167 as of today. So while there was no indication that this was, indeed, the series finale, it is still very likely that yes, this is it!!!
InuYasha Movie Delayed On Adult Swim
[7.9.04]
Due to a miscommunication in regards to the amount of time that is required to pass between the DVD release of InuYasha: The Love that Transcends Time and its airing, the previously announced date of October 23 for Adult Swim's airing of the feature will be pushed back. Instead, it will premiere in the Spring of 2005. We understand how disappointing this is for InuYasha fans, but these were circumstances beyond our control. Premieres of InuYasha will continue to air on Saturdays at 12 a.m., with weekday reruns at 12:30 a.m.
Movie 4 Site Updated
[7.7.04]
Following Shounen Sunday's announcement, the official site has seen a make-over and some new information, including the following plot information: "The island controlled by four demon gods, Hourai-jima. Suddenly appearing is a girl who knows Inuyasha: Ai. Unchanged for fifty years, what is this girl's secret? When the cursed seal rises, Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru's newest battle begins!" There are a few new images but no new trailer, although the site promises new content on the 17th.

[7.5.04]
The fourth movie has been given the title "Guren no Hourai-jima", or "Crimson Hourai Island". Hourai Island is an island of immortals that appears every few decades, which Kikyou and Inuyasha visited once before. There is still no specific release date other than "December."

Viz has announced the American release of the first two InuYasha movies this year. This is good news for the fans of the InuYasha TV anime, since the movies, which received theatrical distribution in Japan, benefit from bigger budgets and feature more complete and more spectacular animation.
Viz plans on previewing the first InuYasha movie, InuYasha: Affections Touching Across Time at ComicCon International in San Diego in July and then releasing it theatrically in selected cities across the country. First released in Japan in December of 2001, InuYasha: Affections Touching Across Time pits everybody's favorite half-dog/half-human demon squaring off against a new threat from China in a saga that includes heavy doses of action and lots of suspense.
Viz also announced plans to release the second InuYasha movie (InuYasha: Kagami no Naka no Mugenjo) on DVD by the end of the year. Details on this second InuYasha movie as well as the particulars regarding the DVD release of InuYasha: Affections Touching Across Time, have not yet been released. A fourth InuYasha movie was recently announced in Japan! [5.4.04]
