Profiles...Who Are They?

|InuYasha | Kagome | Shippo | Miroku | Sango | |Kirara |

Inu-Yasha
Pronounced: in-new-yah-sha

First Appearance: Episode #1 ''The Girl Who Overcame Time And The Boy Who Was Just Overcome''

Gender: Male

Age: Aside from the 50 years pinned to a tree, his age is unknown, though Rumiko Takahashi (the creator of Inuyasha) said that he has the mindset of a 16-17 year old.

Race: Inu Hanyou (Dog Half-demon)

Occupation: None

About/Personality: Inuyasha is a really good guy at heart, but since he was tormented all of his life for being a half-demon, he is rather rough around the edges and puts on an act to hide his kind nature. Normally he is simple minded, hot-tempered, and a touch clueless. He is also quick to jump into things without thinking them through all the way, which can cause problems, but he always gets out alright in the end.

Love Interest(s): Kikyou and Kagome

Weapon(s): Tetsusaiga (Known as 'Tessaiga' in the Japanese anime) This is his 'cracked-up-piece-of-junk' sword one minute, but then transforms to his 'huge-and-kick-butt-powerful' sword the next. Though, it only transforms when he is protecting humans, because it was originally made to protect his human mother.

Extras: Once every month, when 'the moon isn't visable', Inuyasha changes into a full human for just one night. During this time he loses all features he has as a half-demon. His dog ears, claws, fangs, etc.. making him no stronger then any other human mortal. And if this information were to be known by his enemies, it could be a fatal misfortune.

Kagome

Pronounced: Kah-Go-May

First Appearance: Episode #1 ''The Girl Who Overcame Time And The Boy Who Was Just Overcome''

Gender: Female

Age: 15 at the starting of the series

Race: Human

Occupation: Junior high school student

About/Personality: Kagome is very courageous, be it either when dealing with strong and evil demons or a certain rude and hot-tempered hanyou. She is very kind, polite, and helpful whenever possible to say in the least, and she cares very deeply for her friends, constantly looking out for them. Kagome is full of tact and is very smart considering she is constantly missing school to travel into the past, though her most used wits aren't the kind you learn from books.

Love Interest(s): Inu-Yasha

Weapon(s): Bow and Arrows. The arrows can be shot normally or as purifying arrows and they are very powerful. It was even once mentioned that her purifying arrows were made of souls.

Extras: Her last name is Higurashi! And she is also the reincarnation of Kikyou, much to her dismay and sorrow.

Japanese Voice Actor: Yukino, Satsuki

English Voice Actor: Moneca Stori

Shippo(English)

Pronounced: ship-poe

First Appearance: Episode #9 ''Enter Shippo, Plus the Amazing Thunder Brothers!''

Gender: Male

Age: Unknown (although we know he is young)

Race: Kitsune Youkai (Fox Demon)

Occupation: None

About/Personality: Shippou is generally unaware of how most things go/work in the world, and he has the short temper of a child. (Not as badly as Inuyasha does though ^_^) Still, he likes to do whatever he can to help out the others, and he is probably the most observant of peoples feelings. Shippou is also known to blurt out things that are better left unsaid, and he usually sports a lump on the head courtesy of Inuyasha for it. (Since most often it deals with Inuyasha, hehe)

Love Interest(s): None

Weapon(s): Tricks & Toys. His main one is a spinning toy top--smashing top-- or 'Tsubushi Goma'. He has many others but they aren't very strong, and they are mostly illusion based.

Japanese Voice Actor: Watanabe, Kumiko

Miroku

Pronounced: me-row-koo

First Appearance: Episode #16 ''Mystical Hand of the Amorous Monk, Miroku''

Gender: Male

Age: 19 at the begining of the series

Race: Human

Occupation: Buddhist Priest

About/Personality: Miroku is wise behond his years, he has a good sense of humor, and is a caring person. Maybe its not outwardly expressed that much, usually getting blended in with his occupation as a monk and then getting over looked by his 'Monkly Scams', but when it comes down to the matter he does care. And how can we forget what he is known for the most...his letchery, which usually starts out when he sees a pretty girl and asks her to 'bare his child'.

A Story: The 'Wind Tunnel' curse, which was originally placed on Miroku's grandfather by Naraku, is a generation curse that will only cease to exsist when Naraku himself is destroyed. His grandfather and father both failed, getting consumed by their own wind tunnels, so now the task and the curse lie in Miroku's hands. The curse itself is a void/hole in his right palm that sucks up everything in its path and it grows larger by the year, and if too much time passes, it will one day suck Miroku in as well. Its a big part of his life and he constantly worries about it, letting it effect his actions (Though can you blame him?!). Even still he tries to see it as a gift and face life boldly, having hope that he will one day kill Naraku.

Love Interest(s): Sango

Weapon(s): The Wind Tunnel, known as the 'Kazzana' in the Japanese anime, his staff, called a 'Shakujou' in Japanese terms, and spiritual powers. One of his main attacks is called 'Sebai.' In English, roughly translated, means "Heaven's Punishment." Another one of his most often seen attacks is when he uses 'Ofuda.' It is a strip of paper enscribed with a Buddhist/Shinto scripture, used to ward away evil spirits; Miroku uses these as focus for his clerical powers, such as exorcism.

Japanese Voice Actor: Tsujitani, Kouji

Sango

Pronounced: san-goh

First Appearance: Episode #24 ''Enter Sango the Demon Exterminator''

Gender: Female

Age: 16 at the begining of the series

Race: Human

Occupation: Taijiya (Demon Exterminator)

About/Personality: Sango is very attached to her younger brother, Kohaku, and she loves him very much. Constantly being upset over losing him and can maybe even be described as depressed about it. Strong, brave, and equipt with a strong sense of determination, she will do whatever it takes to free her brother from Naraku. Though she isn't as melancholy as it sounds, Sango is very happy when she is with the Inuyasha gang, and she cares from them a lot as well.

A Story: It all started on an outing to exterminate demons (Kohaku's first) at a castle. A short while after arriving and carrying out their duties, Kohaku becomes possessed and kills off his father and the rest of the exterminators. He also tries to kill Sango but only succeeds in wounding her before he snaps out of it and back to himself. He races to his sister crying out her name in horror at what he has done, the workers of the castle think him crazy and shoot him with arrows, they also shoot at Sango bringing them both down. They appear to be dead altough Sango is the only one to survive. And Naraku, the one who set the whole thing up, uses the power of a shikon shard to bring Kohaku back to life and have complete control over him, having him lose all the memories he ever had.

Love Interest(s): Miroku

Weapon(s): Boomerang Bone (Known as 'Hiraikotsu' in the Japanese anime) This is her giant boomerang made from the bone of a demon that she throws at enemies to cut them down to size. She can also hit and whack them with it. Besides this bone she has many other tools that go along with her exterminator outfit such as a small sword, poison mask, and other various things to handle demons.
