Do you prefer Dubs or Subs? (Can you explain why?)
The great debate or better known as dub Vs sub! I most definitely prefer subs or fansubs over dubbing. But like all one-time noobs, I have been a dub-lover at one time. Now I watch most anime at its best and original format. The Japanses take pride in their voice acting, unlike most dub voice actors; no offence to those who could give me a better argument over this issue. Though I have been known to take back my own opnions on one or more occassion whilst watching a dubbed show for example: Cowboy Bebop, Princess Mononoke or Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust; nothing beats superb voice acting like that! Another perfect example would be: Richard Cox and Kappei Yamaguchi both voice actors on InuYasha who play Inuyasha. You can't beat Kappei; though Cox does do a far attempt at Inuyasha. Yamaguchi is far by the better of the two; he has this extraordinary talented voice that he can change to suit the particular mood, especially as InuYasha does delve into the drama and angst genre as well as action and adventure. Cox and Yamaguchi are also the voice actors of Ranma and again; Kappei gets my vote. Especially as Ranma is rather arrogant and Kappei pulls off his sarcastic come backs with ease… sorry Mr Cox you don't make this fangirls grade.
I am no way going into this debate as it's been done to death already; but my preference isn't always right. So in all, I think you should make up your own minds. I do recommend watching Inuyasha and Ranma in Japanese with English subs enabled, you won't be disappointed!
